How to draw Japanese sound effects
Step by step
You should draw your sound effects AFTER inking, but BEFOR using any Screen tones.
This is very important!
(The following art works is in completed form and has only been used explanation purposes.)

  #01
You have to have finished inking characters and backgrounds before drawing sound effects.

#02
Sketch the outlines with a pencil.
(I used a blue pencil for explanation. )
  #03
Go over your pencil outline with a felt tip pen. Any outlines that remain in pencil can be erased.

#04
Clean up the inside of your words
with White Correction Fluid or Bleed Proof White.
